Our swimmable fabric tails are made from from 1 mm four-way stretch buttery soft scuba knit fabric, featuring high-definition sublimation printed designs for vibrant color and realistic scale detail. Each Darkwater Fins tail features our original fluke design and includes a durable internal vinyl monofin casing. Monofins slide easily into the casing and are secured with internal velcro closures, allowing the fluke to move naturally and realistically through the water. All Darkwater Fins fabric tails are made to your custom measurements, ensuring a tailored and secure fit.

These tails are designed to accommodate a variety of monofins within the dimensions listed below. We recommend monofins with short, stiff blades such as the FINIS Shooter Monofin or FINIS Foil Monofin for best performance.

Some say there is a stretch of bayou where the water stops flowing, where dragonflies vanish mid-flight, and where even the frogs fall silent. You will know you've found it not by what you see, but by what you no longer hear.

Beneath the glass still surface lingers a solitary guardian. Its scales mirror the moss-covered shallows and algae-stained roots so perfectly that it becomes invisible among them. Only the faint shine of gold along its fluke catches the moonlight, appearing like drifting lanterns floating through the reeds.

The merfolk call this creature Unseen Bayou.

Unseen Bayou is not feared because it hunts, but because it watches. Legends claim that those who enter the bayou with respect may glimpse the familiar gold flecks beneath the surface and find their way home. Those who arrive with greed often leave with only stories of strange lights and the uneasy feeling that they were never alone.

Deep in the marsh, where the cypress roots disappear beneath the dark water, Mirebloom begins to stir.

Old stories say the fae found their way into the swamp long before people did. Most of them have now vanished, but some of their magic still lingers, tangled in the moss and hidden among the wildflowers.

Mirebloom is said to be one of them.

Mirebloom's violet and pink scales glimmer between the reeds while flecks of green travel across its fins like tiny wisps. Mirebloom is curious by nature, sometimes following wandering travelers, but it rarely allows itself to be spotted.

Those lucky enough to spot Mirebloom often mistake it for mere flowers drifting across the water.

By the time they look again, only the ripples remain.

Here in the swamps, we call them Friar's Lanterns.

Deep in the swamps and bayous, wispy, beautiful, glowing lights appear just past the reeds. They slowly move, with the intention to entice weary travelers, looking for hope.

Those who follow the lights are drawn deeper into the marsh, until the land disappears and every direction looks the same. Most of the time, they never return.

People believe the lights themselves are the danger, but they are wrong. The lights are only the lure.

Something else waits beneath the still marsh water... watching and waiting for an ususpecting traveler to fall victim to its trap.

Friar's Lantern draws its inspiration from one of the oldest names for the mysterious Will-o'-the-Wisp, a legend that has haunted swamps and marshes for centuries. In the lore of Darkwater fins, the story takes on a darker truth.

The lights were never trying to lead you home.
